This animated piece is an example I prepared to show my students about adding in layers of animation and detail to create a more polished result.
I emphasize the 12 principles of animation in my lessons and here in this simple example I have:
- Anticipation before the sphere leaves the screen
- Follow through on the screen with the ripples after the sphere leaves
- Squash and stretch as the sphere morphs into the bulb
- Staging that follows the motion with DOF camera effects
- Slow in/Slow out where the sphere decreases in speed after breaking loose
- Arc where the sphere rotates and moves in an imperfect way
